What’s in a name? Apparently $100,00 when it comes to 16th Street, the new moniker for what many of us know as the 16th Street Mall. Headed by the Downtown Denver Partnership, the rebranding also includes the slogan “Denver Way,” which is written on banners throughout the area. The original name came from a revitalization project in 1982, which created the downtown pedestrian area in the first place.

Stone Cellar Bistro faced a bit of a drama after an angry patron posted about the staffs’ treatment towards a nursing mother. After waves of outrage across social media, some poorly-worded responses from the eatery, and organized “breastfeed-ins”, the restaurant issued an apology over social media. The post basically stated they made a mistake and that they are just humans.
“Moving forward, we are committed to making sure every guest feels respected, welcome, and supported at Stone Cellar Bistro. Thank you for your grace as we continue to learn and do better.” finished the statement.
One of Denver’s best bakeries is looking to expand to wholesale and make ice cream. That’s right, GetRights has big plans in the future, and after the successful addition of pizza to the program, we can’t wait to see what’s next.
Openings and Closings in the News
The popular East Coast bagel chain Call Your Mother Deli has launched a mobile location in the Central Park neighborhood. The bright pink “house” is popping up at 3165 Central Park Blvd., serving bagels, sandwiches, coffee, and other items from the limited menu.

Little Wolf, a bar dedicated to American Single Malt Whiskey, officially opens in the former Cafe Brazil spot on Tuesday, May 27. The large venture also serves food, including the Brazilian-style Xtudo Burger, a nod to the neighborhood restaurant before. The overall crux of the menu is to serve food that goes well with whiskey, and pairings and tastings will be offered.
The beautiful restaurant Noisette announced on social media it’s closing. After almost three years serving classic French fare in LoHi, the last day of service will be on June 14.
They wrote: “Unfortunately, like many in our industry, we’ve faced ongoing challenges in the current economic climate that have made it unsustainable for us to continue. While we’re sad to say goodbye, we are also filled with gratitude for the memories and moments we’ve shared with our guests and team.”
On the Menu
RosenBurgers is back at Rosenberg’s Bagels in Five Points for a second summer season. But what is this magic? Think classic East Coast-inspired sliders that bring to mind the White Manna and White Mana diners in New Jersey. Taste the iconic bite every Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

“White Manna helped define what a slider is supposed to be, thin patties, fried onions, melty cheese, and just the right amount of grease,” said Pollack in an email. “RosenBurgers is our love letter to that tradition, with a Denver twist.”
Hey Kiddo! has unveiled a new menu format dubbed Walk With Us. The experience runs $85 per person, and features either fried chicken, wagyu beef, pork ribs with salted plum barbecue sauce, or duck with a burnt nut hoisin. Diners also receive the entire side list, which consists of milk rolls served with cultured butter and bonito, potato pave with trout roe gravy and chives, and Grandma’s Chicken & Dumplings, an homage to chef and owner Kelly Whitaker’s grandmother. Enhance the meal with a caviar bump, spike a mocktail, and try the ice cream sundae bar with red miso ice cream as the base.

Starting June 1, head to Atomic Cowboy for the month-long cocktail special, a $5 Tito’s Mint Lemonade. The drink is made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, fresh lemon, and muddled mint, available at all Atomic Cowboy locations throughout June.

Join Adrift Tiki Bar for Punch Bowl Week, starting Tuesday, May 27 through the 31. This entire week you can get $10 off any punch bowl on the menu. Only caveat, one per table, per visit.

On Wednesday, May 28, Laws Whiskey House spotlights its Headwaters Series, a whiskey line honoring and protecting Colorado’s waterways. For $60, attendees will tour the distillery to learn about its water-saving practices, and enjoy a guided tasting of the new 2025 Headwaters Series, which includes Rio Grande Rye Edition and the 2024 Headwaters Series Colorado River Four Grain Bourbon. You will also hear from two leading water conservation experts, Laura Cusick of the Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust and Kat Weismiller from the Colorado Department of Natural Resources. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., tickets are available here.
National Burger Day takes place Wednesday, May 28 and Bos Butcher & Deli at Denver Milk Market in LoDo is celebrating. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., take advantage of Denver Milk Market’s burger special. Choose either a $9 Bos Burger, served with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and Bos sauce on a potato bun, or pay $13 to get the same burger with a side of fries, tater tots, Brussels sprouts, onion rings, or mac and cheese. Don’t worry if you miss National Burger Day, the Bos Burger special is served every Monday from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.

The 16th Street Summer Kickoff is a two-day celebration running Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. head to Downtown Denver for 10 blocks of fun from the early opening of the Skyline Beer Garden to shopping at the Grand BAZAAR to tons of things for kids and families to do. The event naturally takes place along 16th Street, formally known as the 16th Street Mall.
Join Bloom by Apple Blossom and Casamigos for the Rooftop Grand Opening on May 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event features live music, an unlimited taco bar, and an open bar with Casamigos cocktails, all for just $59 per person. Located on the 15th floor of the Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver, tickets are available now on OpenTable.
On Sunday, June 1 hit up Hey Kiddo! in Berkeley for a rooftop party for Kiki Aranita and Ari Miller, founders of Poi Dog, a Hawaiian sauce line. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the lineup features Huli Huli Chicken, Poi Dog Chili Pepper Water, and a live DJ. The party goes to 9 p.m., and guests can reserve the experience on OpenTable for $12, which includes a Chili Pepper water when you come in.
Following the property’s new, over-the-top renovation, The Curtis Hotel is rolling out a colorful Pride Package designed to pamper guests and give back to the LGBTQ+ community. Five-percent of the proceeds from the package will go to The Center on Colfax, the largest LGBTQ+ community center in the Rocky Mountain region.

The summer food festival season kicks off on Thursday, June 5, for Colorado Restaurant Association’s Drink Red Wear Red. The event takes place at Mile High Station & Ironworks in Downtown Denver, and is the organization’s annual fundraiser. Dress in your best red attire, whether funky or formal, and indulge in endless bites from Denver’s top restaurants, as well as all-you-can-drink wines, signature cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Aviation-themed brewery FlyteCo Tower and Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum are working together to bring an iconic U.S. Airforce Thunderbirds F-16 to the museum. But they need help getting a 30,000-pound jet from Texas to Denver. To raise funds, FlyteCo Tower is putting on a fundraiser concert on Saturday, June 7, featuring Dos Gringos, a band formed by two US Air Force F-16 pilots who are flying in just for the concert. Tickets are on sale now.
Guard and Grace’s 11th annual Rosé Party is back on Saturday, June 7, and the proceeds benefit the Women’s Wine Guild of Colorado. Tickets run $140 per person, and the event is from 12 to 3 p.m. Wear pink or white to blend in, and purchase your spot here.
