Helping Hands: Wildfire Relief and Resources

Dek goes here…

December 30, 2021: We were on the cusp of what everyone hoped would be a fresh start in the new year. Then wildfires ripped through Boulder County, destroying 1,000 buildings and leaving two people dead. On the heels of an already traumatic two years, it could easily be the final straw for beleaguered victims. But as always, Colorado’s restaurant community steps up to help.

Hospitality workers who lost property or income due to the fires can apply for a grant of up to $1,000 from the Colorado Restaurant Foundation’s Angel Relief Fund. And over the next 18 months, We Got This, a coalition of national and local brands (including Snooze, Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha, Upslope Brewing Company, and Polidori Sausage) will distribute care packages made up of restaurant gift cards, personal care products, pet and baby food, and more to people displaced by the fires. Request assistance (for yourself or someone else) on its website. And because tending to your mental health in the midst of trauma is just as important as keeping a roof over your head, Khesed Wellness offers mental health therapy for just $60, with pro bono services for 10 percent of its clients. For additional mental health services—many of them free—see this list compiled by EatDenver.
