If you have Celiac or a severe Gluten Intolerance, you know the struggle of going to a restaurant that claims to have gluten free food but then contaminates everything in a shared fryer. As a Celiac of 17 years myself, here are my top 5 recommendations for Celiac Safe fried food in Denver.

If you have Celiac or severe Gluten Intolerance, you know the struggle of going to a restaurant that claims to have gluten-free food but then contaminates everything in a shared fryer. As a Celiac of 17 years myself, here are my top 5 recommendations for Celiac Safe fried food in Denver.

Teocalli

5770 Olde Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80002

103 N Public Rd Unit C, Lafayette, CO 80026

This dedicated gluten-free kitchen is most known for its gluten-free churros. Teocalli has two locations, Arvada & Lafayette CO. Their Arvada location, located in the heart of Olde Town, creates a great ambiance with live foliage hanging from the ceiling. They offer innovative Mexican dishes, plus cocktails. I always order the chicken quesadilla when I’m there. It’s AMAZING. They also are partners of the MyMeal app so if you have a food allergy outside of your celiac you can filter their menu in-store to see exactly what’s safe for you on the menu.

The Post Chicken & Beer

Seven Front Range Locations

1575 Boulder St, Denver, CO 80211

With multiple locations around Colorado, this is the place to go if you’re craving gluten-free fried chicken. They actually don’t even make the regular batter so their fryer is completely safe for all their Celiac guests. They even have a mouth-watering gluten-free blueberry cheesecake for you to indulge in for dessert. Since I was diagnosed at 9 years old, this was the first time I had ever gotten the chance to try the fried chicken and it did not disappoint.

Acova

3651 Navajo St, Denver, CO 80211

The owner of Acova has Celiac herself so she knows the importance of a dedicated gluten-free fryer. They have so many amazing options here. Everything from Wings, Fish n Chips, fried chicken, sandwiches, and more. ALL GLUTEN-FREE. It is truly a Celiac’s heaven. They also are partners of the MyMeal app and use a filterable allergy menu in the store.

Vital Root

3915 Tennyson St, Denver, CO 80212

Vital Root is a 100% Gluten, Fish, and Shellfish free restaurant. They are also 99% Vegan. They have so many amazing options from Yuca Fries, Cauliflower Wings, a Falafel Wrap, and more. They are also the perfect restaurant to visit on a warm day. They have an amazing patio with plants everywhere.

Birdcall

Eight Colorado Locations

800 E 26th Ave, Denver, CO 80205

Birdcall is a Denver-based, quick-service fried chicken concept – launched in 2016 with the goal to use technology to make all-natural foods more affordable and accessible.  They have several locations around Colorado that serve gluten & dairy-free chicken nuggets and fries that go only into a dedicated fryer.
