It’s not a joke, the Gilded Martini at Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek’s speakeasy-style bar B&GC costs $2,500, and that’s actually a good deal.

Made to order, the elegant drink comprises top shelf spirits and actual gold. Inside you’ll find gold-infused Monkey 47, Belvedere 10, a housemade vermouth blend, olive oil, and a 24-karat gold sheet to add even more glam to the glass. But what really drives the high price is the diamond necklace garnish.

Provided by the neighboring GNAT Jewelry Atelier, the accessory is a 14-karat, yellow-gold paperclip necklace with a stunning solitaire diamond. While $2,500 may seem like a lot for a martini, the jewelery alone retails for $5,000. So in reality the cocktail presentation provides the buyer with a steep discount on a gorgeous necklace.

Other drinks on the B&GC menu cost much, much less than the Gilded Martini, ranging from $18 to $20. You can also get a small taste of luxury by just ordering the Gold-Infused Monkey, which is the actual martini in the fancy package. Though without the necklace, it only costs $27.

However, if you want the Gilded Martini, go soon. There’s only one available, and once its gilded cage is open, we aren’t sure when or if there will be another just like it.

Visit B&GC in Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight; and Sunday through Tuesday from 6 to 10 p.m. For reservations call 720-925-8598. 249 Columbine St., Denver, bandgcdenver.com
