The world of tacos is so vast and delicious, that while all 52 Tuesdays of the year are dedicated to them, there are still added days to celebrate this tasty meal. Today is National Crunchy Taco Day, and we’re going to do our best to get you out of the long Taco Bell lines, and into three local restaurants that serve up these Tex-Mex-style tacos.

If you are a taco lover who can never get enough, make sure you mark Thursday, July 13 on your calendar for Top Taco 2023. More than 50 restaurants will be sampling their tacos and vying to be named the Best Traditional, Best Vegetarian, and Best Creative Taco. Let us not forget taco’s best friend, tequila, who will also be in high attendance and used to compete for Best Cocktail. Es una fiesta. Grab your entire group, unfriend anyone that doesn’t like tacos (untrustworthy), and head over. To stay up to date on ticket releases and other details, sign up for alerts.

Wild Taco

215 E 7th Ave, Denver, CO 80203

Everyone loves a good Taco Tuesday special. At Wild Taco, located at 7th Street and Sherman, you can enjoy two hard-shell tacos and a classic margarita for $12. You have a selection of proteins to choose from: chicken tinga, carnitas, bulgogi, or rajas con queso (vegetarian). Tacos are served with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, chips, and house salsa.

Cochino Taco

3495 S Downing St, Englewood, CO 80113
176 S Broadway, Denver, CO 80209
7700 Ralston Rd, Arvada, CO 80002

Cochino Taco has expanded to three locations around town, with plans to open up a fourth soon. They offer two ground beef crunchy tacos on their menu with the works for $8. Even more flavorful is when you order them “shaggy style”: wrapped in flour tortillas with queso and beans in between.

D’Corazon Mexican Restaurant

1530 Blake St Unit C, Denver, CO 80202

D’Corazon is a must as their menu is full of authentic Mexican flavors, and the service staff works at the speed of lightning. They offer their hard shell tacos a la carte for $4 with your choice of chicken, ground beef, or shredded beef – or, as a taco plate accompanied with rice and beans for $12.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, July 13, 2023, because the much-awaited Denver Culinary Experience Top Taco will be back in Westminster.
