Recess Beer Garden
Not only is Recess Beer Garden in LoHi one of the best places to sit outside with your dog, but it offers goodies for man’s best friend too. The dog-friendly hours run Sunday through Thursday from open to close; Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. As long as your dog remains leashed, they can enjoy a gratis treat, a side of bacon, or the pup patty, plus fresh bowls of water. 2715 17th St., Denver, recessbeergarden.com
Chef Zorba

Head to this City Park diner for a feast for both you and your canine companion. Treats are free for those who ask, and you can get an official Chef Zorba bandana for your dog. On the human side, fill up on breakfast all day, and glorious plates of gyro meats or spanakopita with an array of salads. 2626 E. 12th Ave., Denver, chefzorbas.com
Lazy Dog

All of the Denver locations of Lazy Dog have dog-friendly patios that offer a pup menu. It’s not surprising given the name, and the amount of dogs you may see chilling outside. The special menu features three bowls filled with brown rice and veggies, and topped with a choice of grilled chicken breast or hamburger patty. This is one restaurant where you know you won’t have a starving pet to feed when you get home. Multiple locations, lazydogrestaurants.com

Patio at Sloan’s
Get a doggy meal with a stunning view of Sloan Lake at this neighborhood hot spot. Dubbed the Bark Bowl, the dish features a bone-broth base, chicken and sweet potato, all non-GMO. Pair that with a human order of truffle fries and a Colorado Cheesesteak. 4032 W. 17th Ave., Denver, thepatioatsloans.com
Windfall Brewing Brewing Co.

While working on a story about Windfall Brewing Co.’s dog-loving owner Shawn Murray, we found out the brewpub has a dog menu too. Each canine visitor gets a freshly-filled water bowl and a treat on the house. Diners can also order their canine companions a plain burger patty, plain chicken cutlet, toasted quinoa, or raw carrots. 14694 Orchard Pkwy. Suite 400, Westminster, windfallbrewing.co
Little Man Ice Cream Co.

Everyone can enjoy a special treat at all the Little Man Ice Cream locations. When you buy a cone of the human stuff you can get a free pup cup for your dog. Essentially it’s just whipped cream topped with tiny biscuits, but it’s certainly a step up from the usual kibble at home. Head to the LoHi location of the shop and after, take kids and canines to the park across the street to run off all the sugar. Multiple locations, littlemanicecream.com
The Maven Hotel and LoDough Bakery

Make it an overnight stay at The Maven in LoDo, which always welcomes dogs with special pet amenities. Think dog treats, an in-room dog bowl, doggy bed, and a downtown dog-friendly guide. Once settled, head downstairs to the Dairy Block alley to find LoDough, a bakery that serves up fresh human treats and gives out free dog nibbles made in house. 1850 Wazee St., Denver, themavenhotel.com
Hotel Teatro and The Nickel
Not every hotel rolls out the red carpet for pets, but the team at Hotel Teatro in Downtown Denver does. Not literally, but dogs do receive a welcome gift at check in and stay at the hotel for free. Owners also get a gratis treat in the form of a glass of wine when you arrive, and breakfast burritos in the morning. Bring your pup along, the outdoor patio is perfect for the pair of you. There’s a limit of 2 dogs per room, and a dog food bowl, water bowl, and bed are available upon request. 1100 14th St., Denver, hotelteatro.com
