It’s only fitting that a restaurant nestled in the Colorado Rockies would be pouring a wine crafted from the mountainside vineyards of Abruzzo, Italy. With sweeping views of the Adriatic Sea to the east, the region is a prime setting for vines with sea breezes cooling the grapes as the consistent sunshine facilitates optimal ripening.

Choosing a wine was a fun and collaborative experience and I ultimately landed on an irresistibly playful glass of Lectores Vini winery’s ‘Pomagrana’ from Conca de Barberà in Catalonia, Spain. A blend of mostly the Trepat grape with a splash of Tempranillo for structure, the wine is halfway between a rosado, or Spanish rosé, and a light-bodied, chillable red.
